Samira Vishwas | June 3, 2025 1:25 AM CST

Mumbai: Masik Durgashtami, observed on the eighth day (Ashtami Tithi) of the waxing moon (Shukla Paksha) every month, holds immense spiritual significance in Hinduism. Dedicated to the fierce yet compassionate Goddess Durga, this monthly observance is believed to bring protection, peace, and prosperity to devotees who worship the deity with faith and devotion. Followers believe that by observing this fast and performing the puja rituals, one can overcome obstacles, defeat negativity, and achieve inner strength.

The festival is especially potent for those facing hardships or challenges, as Maa Durga is considered the divine force of Shakti—capable of eliminating all forms of suffering and granting spiritual strength. When devotees perform the rituals with true intention, it is said that their wishes are fulfilled, enemies are subdued, and harmony returns to their personal and family life.
