Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Upset over his father’s refusal to buy him a smart phone, a 19-year-old allegedly ended his life by jumping into the Lower Lake from ‘Suicide Point’ under Jehangirabad police station. Body of the youth has been handed over to his kin after autopsy, police said.
Vishesh Prajapati, a resident of Krushna Nagar under Shyamla Hills police station, went missing on Saturday. His father Santosh, a vegetable vendor lodged a missing complaint at Shyamla Hills police station.
On Sunday evening, locals near Khatlapura in Jehnagirabad spotted body of a youth floating near ‘Suicide Point’ and called police. The body was identified as that of Vishesh by his family members.
Police officials said that questioning from the family revealed that Vishesh had passed an intermediate examination and had taken admission in a college. He has been asking his father to buy him a smartphone for the past few days.
Vishesh left home on Saturday in a fit of rage after his father refused to fulfil his demand. It is suspected that the youth jumped from the ‘Suicide Point’ and ended his life. However, further investigations were underway in this connection, officials added.
