
For C&D processing, SMC has been allotted 125 plant processing TPD to 125 and JMC. Emphasizing the inheritance waste withdrawal, the meeting stated that 1.33 metric tonnes of heritage waste has been treated since the last review meeting.
In the context of cleanliness infrastructure, the task of constructing 375 toilet seats has been assigned. Jammu Municipal Corporation is working in 100 seats while Srinagar Municipal Corporation is constructing 95 seats and 97 urinals. Additionally, the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies has issued tenders for other 275 toilet seats and 58 urinals. For individual domestic toilets, 51 beneficiaries have been identified and construction work is going on.
The Chief Secretary praised the joint efforts of execution agencies, advisors and urban local bodies and underlined the importance of timely completion and quality control. He said that these projects play an important role in achieving sustainable urban development and protecting public health. Reviewing Amrit 2.0, he said that the purpose of the mission is to make cities safe and improve the overall quality of life. He said that most of the total 99 sanctioned schemes are already subject to active execution, while the remaining are in various stages of tender or allocation.
Out of the sanctioned 153 projects, 99 are focused on improving water supply systems, relating to 04 sewerage and leakage management and are focused on the renovation of 50 water roads. He said that the goal is to provide functional tap connection to 100 percent of the houses in Amrit cities. It was informed in the meeting that a large number of of these projects have already been provided with tenders and some are working on work, while some are still waiting for the allocation.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned to follow the deadline, expand coverage in urban areas and ensure efficient water management. He also gave instructions for timely construction and upgradation of sewage treatment plant, decentralized system and seepage management units. He said that the government is committed to 100 percent safe settlement and re -use of waste water to reduce pollution and environmental damage. The Chief Secretary highlighted the importance of these projects not only for the development of infrastructure but also to increase the quality of urban life. He reiterated that Amrit 2.0 shows a major change in urban policy and the government focuses on civilian engagement, environmental stability and integrated urban planning. He instructed all concerned departments, urban local bodies and implementation partners to solve the pending allocations without delay, accelerate civil works and maintain high standards during project execution. He expressed confidence that by continuous efforts, Jammu and Kashmir would emerge as a model in the effective implementation of these national urban missions.
