Another suspected Pakistani spy has been arrested by Punjab Police and Counter Intelligence. The accused, identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Gagan, was detained from Tarn Taran. Officials say he was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and pro-Khalistan terrorist Gopal Singh Chawla, allegedly sharing critical information related to Indian military operations, including details about Operation Sindoor.

According to the police, Gagan had been supplying data on military movements and bases during Operation Sindoor. His phone was seized and examined, revealing links to over 20 Pakistani intelligence officers. Punjab DGP shared on social media that Gagan, a resident of Mohalla Rodupur, was arrested based on intelligence inputs.

The investigation suggests Gagan had been in touch with Gopal Singh Chawla for the past five years. Through this connection, he gained access to Pakistani intelligence operatives. Officials say Gagan leaked information about army deployment and strategic locations, posing a serious national security risk.

In recent months, several individuals have been apprehended for spying. These include travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra from Hisar and Devendra Singh from Kaithal, arrested for passing intelligence to Pakistan.

Gopal Singh Chawla, the key link in this case, is a Pakistan-based Khalistani supporter known for his anti-India stance. He is believed to be working closely with the ISI, identifying soft targets among Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan. Chawla is also known for his connection with Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated following the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 6-7, targeting and destroying nine terrorist hideouts across the border. Pakistan later attempted a counter-attack, which failed, leading to a ceasefire agreement on May 10.

Further investigation into Gagan’s espionage activities is underway.
