Tragic Incident in Gobindpur Village

Kabisuryanagar: A tragic incident unfolded late Sunday night in Gobindpur village, where a man was fatally stabbed in his sleep, allegedly by his wife and father-in-law. The victim, identified as Kalia Sethy, was reportedly killed due to ongoing disputes related to his wife's extramarital relationship.

According to a complaint filed by Kalia's father, Abhimanyu Sethy, Pooja, the victim's wife, along with her father, Mochiram Sethy, entered their home and attacked him with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Local police responded promptly, sending the body for a post-mortem examination. They have registered a case (395/25) under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated an investigation. The Purushottampur SDPO also visited the site to gather more information.

This shocking event has left the local community in disbelief, particularly as it was revealed that the accused woman's father assisted in the murder by removing the vermilion from her forehead. Kalia leaves behind a 10-year-old son.

Police reports indicate that Abhimanyu has accused the pair of murdering his son due to persistent domestic conflicts stemming from Pooja's affair. He noted that she often communicated with another man while Kalia was at work, which led to frequent arguments. This issue had previously been brought before local panchayat authorities on two occasions, but resolutions were only temporary.
