Farming in India: Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for farmers in India. However, excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides has reduced the fertility of the soil. To address this issue, Patanjali Ayurved has taken a major step to promote organic farming. Patanjali's aim is to rejuvenate the soil and economically empower farmers.

The company stated, “Patanjali’s Kisan Samriddhi Programme teaches farmers organic farming. It involves the use of Patanjali’s organic fertilisers and products like organic PROM. These fertilisers are made from medicinal plants, cow dung, and beneficial microorganisms like Trichoderma. They improve the soil, enabling it to retain water and nutrients more efficiently. This enhances soil strength and leads to better crop yields.”

Organic Farming Maintains Environmental Balance

According to the company, “Compared to chemical farming, Patanjali’s organic farming conserves water and maintains environmental balance. Its products, such as humic acid and fertilisers made with seaweed, help maintain nutrient balance in the soil. This strengthens the crops’ resistance to diseases, increases production, and boosts farmers’ income. This method is not only beneficial for the environment but also revives the ancient knowledge of Indian agriculture.”

Patanjali’s Organic Campaign Is a Social Transformation

The company added, “Patanjali Bio Research Institute (PBRI) has collaborated with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to work on quality seeds and new technologies. This provides farmers with better seeds and sustainable farming practices, thereby improving their financial condition. Patanjali’s organic campaign is not just a business, but a social transformation. It is a significant step toward making soil healthy, crops nutritious, and farmers self-reliant. This initiative is bringing economic prosperity to villages, promoting environmental conservation, and encouraging healthy living.”
