Entertainment entertainment: ‘Good Boy’ is a show that attracts you from the beginning. It knows that it is for entertainment – and so far, it is doing its work very well.

The show was premiered with pomp in Bangkok on May 31, 2025, and it is streaming on many platforms – Netflix, Disney+ (in South Korea) and globally on Amazon Prime Video. So, yes, it is accessible and worthy of discussion. But is it worth seeing? Based on the first two episodes, we will say yes – with some cautious optimism.

Let’s start with tone. ‘Good Boy’ does not try to be mysterious or extremely serious. It is fun and succeeds. The plot revolves around five former athletes, which, for various reasons, leaves their sports careers behind and become part of a special anti-crime police unit. It is ideologically slightly stretched, definitely, but it is played with so much attraction that you are happy to join this journey.

Park Bo-Gum, has just come out of the international success of ‘Wohn Life Gives You Tangrin’, has become easily in this new, very different role. It may seem difficult to leave the previous hit behind, but to the truth, the ‘Good Boy’ is not trying to get beyond that – it is playing its own role. Here, Bo-Gum is playing the role of a boxer from a boxer, and he has attraction and physical ability to make it reliable.

His scenes, especially in motion, have been shot beautifully. Camera work during action scenes – especially with Bo -Gum and Lee Song -Yi, who are playing the role of a former festive – sharp, flowing and attractive. You feel that you are in the middle with them, holding every punch, swoop and fall.

Kim So -Hune had a big gun in the hand of someone on someone’s 2025 bingo card, but O – we like surprise. Although his game did not prepare him for a close match at all, he still completes his action moments with a stable hand and some terrible energy. It is nice to see him in such a strong, confident character, even if we have not yet seen the entire range of his abilities.

A moment that is definitely worthy of praise is Shin J -Hong – the gentle giant of the squad – which thoroughly throws the sewer lid (yes, really). It is one of the scenes that surprise you, smiles, and says, “Okay, now it’s fun.” The last part of the episode one, where we finally see all five characters tapping their athletic sides, is a complete visual treatment.

And let’s talk about music. American artists Max, who are known for their work with Suga and Le Sarafim’s Hu Yun-Jin, give their voice in the main OST, ‘Gate in the Ring’. It is powerful, encouraging and cools completely with the atmosphere of the show. It was a smart move to use it during the first episode of climax – it felt as if the show has officially entered the ring, absolutely accurate satire.
