But behind this beautiful masterpiece was none other than the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar. Composed by the legendary Naushad with lyrics penned by Shakeel Badayuni. Mughal-e-Azam wasn’t just a film it was a phenomenon. With a whopping budget of ₹1.5 crore at the time it was the most expensive Bollywood film of its era.
