Samsung has officially unveiled its first foldable smartphone of the year the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra. Packed with design refinements and camera improvements, this next-generation foldable is shaping up to be a major leap forward for the South Korean tech giant.

While Samsung has yet to release the full specifications, the teaser for its upcoming Unpacked event confirms some exciting upgrades. Most notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra will feature a larger display and a better camera system, addressing two of the most requested features from users.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra: What’s New?

According to insider leaks and early promotional content, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra is expected to come with a 6.5-inch cover screen and a massive 8.2-inch inner foldable display an upgrade from previous Fold models. These enhancements are designed to boost multitasking and media consumption, offering a more immersive experience.

Samsung has also reportedly made the Z Fold 7 Ultra its slimmest foldable yet. When unfolded, the device could be as thin as 4.54mm, or even 3.9mm based on some bold claims. When folded, it’s expected to measure around 9mm making it 3.1mm slimmer than last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Ultra Branding: A New Chapter?

In a recent teaser post, Samsung referred to the device as part of the “Next Chapter of Ultra,” sparking speculation about a possible rebranding of its foldable line. Though not directly named in the teaser, the silhouette unmistakably hints at the Fold series, suggesting this may be the first model to officially carry the Ultra branding.

This strategic shift could mark a significant branding evolution for Samsung’s foldable range, though the company has yet to confirm whether this will apply across future releases.

Despite major design upgrades, the battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,400mAh, the same as the last four Fold models. While this might disappoint some users, Samsung is expected to optimise performance through software enhancements and new-generation chipsets to deliver better battery efficiency.

The official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra is expected in the second week of July 2025, as part of Samsung’s much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event. The tech community is already buzzing with excitement as more details are set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
