Celebrity couple and successful producers Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey have built more than just a production house—they’ve created a culture rooted in equality, admiration, and unshakable partnership. One of the most heartwarming aspects of their dynamic is a tradition Ravie insists on: always placing Sargun’s name before his in any credit or mention.
What seems like a simple gesture carries immense meaning. Sargun shared a moment that defined this practice early in their producer journey.
“I once wrote ‘Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta’ on a poster. When Ravie saw it, he got really upset. He asked, ‘Why did you write Ravie Dubey first?’ I replied, ‘Because it’s your name and we’re in this together.’ But he insisted, ‘Why didn’t you write your name first? Your name will always come first.’”
She added with emotion, “That’s something truly rare—very few people put their wives first, but Ravie always has. No matter the scale of my work—whether I did two rupees or ten rupees worth—he always says, ‘Sargun did it.’ He gives me more credit than I deserve. Maybe that’s why he always puts my name first.”
But Ravie offered a powerful clarification.
“No, that’s not quite it,” he said. “Within Dreamiyata as an enterprise, the leader we all rally behind, including myself, is Sargun Mehta. Her name coming first isn’t about setting a precedent or creating an image.”
He added, “You can ask anyone at our production house—Sargun is the king, queen, emperor, empress—everything. I’m the commander-in-chief and proud to be a good one, but she’s the visionary.”
Sargun began dating her 12/24 Karol Bagh co-star Ravie in 2009 and they got married in December 2013.
