CIA unit claimed human-like aliens were spotted on the moon: 'they are not friendly'

As the United States ramps up preparations to send astronauts back to the Moon, astonishing claims from a declassified CIA file have resurfaced - alleging that life was found on the lunar surface more than 25 years ago.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the CIA launched a classified initiative involving so-called 'remote viewers' - individuals who claimed they could perceive distant people, places, or events using only their minds. One of them, Ingo Swann, later detailed an experience that shook even seasoned intelligence officials.

Swann's account, first made public in 1998, describes a psychic journey to the dark side of the Moon - the hemisphere permanently hidden from Earth. What he claimed to have witnessed was nothing short of mind-bending: towering structures, artificial lights, and human-like aliens operating a secret base.

In his explosive book Penetration: The Question Of Extraterrestrial And Human Telepathy, Swann claimed: "I found towers, machinery, lights of different colors, strange-looking buildings... I found bridges whose function I couldn't figure out. There were a lot of domes of various sizes."

The aliens, Swann reported, appeared male, nude, and engaged in mining activity across the lunar surface. Even more chilling was what came next - two of the aliens allegedly noticed his presence.

"Two of them pointed in my direction," Swann recalled. "How could they do that... unless... they have some kind of high psychic perceptions, too?"

Swann also claimed U.S. officials were already aware of the Moon base. "They somehow have told you to stay away. That's why you are resorting to psychic perceptions. They are not friendly, are they?" he allegedly asked a government contact, known only as Mr Axelrod.

Axelrod reportedly responded: "Approximately correct... but not completely so."

Swann's remote viewing session was said to have taken place at a secret underground base in 1975, after he was blindfolded and flown out by helicopter following a mysterious phone call from intelligence officials in Washington DC. There, he was told simply: "We want you to go to the Moon for us, and describe what you see."

The revelations were not connected to Swann's official work with Project Stargate, the CIA's paranormal intelligence program, but became public after the required secrecy period had elapsed.

Swann's revelations now raise new questions amid the Trump administration's push for renewed manned space exploration. A recent budget proposal saw $6 billion slashed from NASA's research and robotic operations - including the Mars Sample Return mission - in favour of more than $1 billion for crewed space missions.

The White House said the move would help ensure that "America's human space exploration efforts remain unparalleled, innovative, and efficient."

The administration's focus includes beating China back to the Moon and leading the way to Mars - a core ambition for Elon Musk's SpaceX.

Back on Earth, U.S. lawmakers continue to hold public hearings regarding the possibility of extraterrestrial life, not just in deep space - but perhaps even on the Moon.
