
Sharmistha Panoli Gets Bail: The Calcutta High Court granted interim bail to Sharmistha Panoli arrested for posting a video of communal comment on social media. The High Court directed Sharmistha Panoli to fill a bail bond of Rs 10,000. Panoli was arrested for alleged controversial social media comments after Operation Sindoor.

Approving the bail plea of Law Student Sharmishtha Panoli, the Calcutta High Court said that the petitioner would have to cooperate in the investigation and not leave India. He has been granted bail on an amount of Rs 10,000 and security bonds. The court said that the petitioner should be provided with appropriate police protection. Through his comments on social media, he was arrested by Kolkata Police on charges of hurting religious sentiments.
Please tell that 22 -year -old Panoli was arrested by Kolkata Police from Gurugram in Haryana last week. He is accused of hurting religious sentiments through ‘communal’ comments in his video on social media, which has now been removed. After facing criticisms, Panoli removed the post and apologized. Earlier, the court refused to grant interim bail to Panoli and said that freedom of expression does not mean that someone can hurt the sentiments of another person or community.
