Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) created a serious stampede near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday during the first celebration of the title win in IPL 2025. More than 50 people were injured in this stampede and 11 people are feared dead. The incident occurred when supporters from Bengaluru gathered near the stadium to join the joy of winning the IPL trophy. This incident proved to be a sad day for the cricket lovers of Bengaluru.

BCCI Secretary’s response

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Devjit Saikia, expressed deep disappointment on the incident and described it as unfortunate. Saikia said, "This is a very sad event. The organizers should have planned to celebrate RCB’s IPL victory in a good way." He also said that it shows the negative side of the popularity of cricket, because when people are crazy for their cricketers, such accidents can happen.

Stressful atmosphere of celebration

The incident occurred when RCB fans were gathering around the stadium to celebrate their team’s historic victory. Thousands of people gathered outside the stadium to join the celebration, due to which the crowd became difficult. During this time, many people fell and were seriously injured due to stampede. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospitals, but the condition of some is said to be very serious.

Further security arrangements

After this incident, many questions have been raised about the stadium and the security arrangements in the surroundings. The administration has talked about placing tight security arrangements to avoid such incidents in future. However, this incident has changed the celebration of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory into a black spot.
