NEET PG 2025 exam will be held in one shift. The Supreme Court has approved it. Let us know what effect it will have on the candidates...
A big news has come out for the students and the medical world regarding the NEET PG 2025 exam. The Supreme Court has now approved the conduct of this exam on 3 August 2025. The special thing is that this exam will be conducted in a single shift across the country. Earlier this exam was to be held in two shifts on June 15, but the court ordered it to be conducted in a single shift for fairness and transparency.
Why was there a controversy?
In fact, the 'United Doctors Front' had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the decision to conduct the exam in two shifts. The petitioners said that conducting the exam in two shifts could lead to a difference in the level of difficulty, which could cause unfair advantage or disadvantage to some students. The court also took this argument seriously and ordered the exam to be conducted in a single shift.
Why was the exam postponed?
The National Board of Examination planned to conduct the exam afresh after the court's order. A large number of examination centers are required to conduct the exam in a single shift, so they sought a new date from the court. The Supreme Court has now allowed the exam to be conducted on August 3. This decision is a relief news for medical students.
What will be the impact on students?
The postponement of the exam can be a mixed experience for the students. On the one hand they have got extra time to prepare, on the other hand a long wait can also increase mental stress. However, by conducting the exam in a single shift, now all the candidates will get equal opportunity, which was very important.
According to NBE, more than 1,000 examination centers will be required in about 250 cities across the country to conduct this exam at the same time. For this, technical partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has considered the date of August 3 as the most appropriate.
