The Hyundai Verna has been one of the few sedans left in the market and to make it more lucrative, they have launched a new SX+ variant. It is priced from Rs 13.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This will sit between the SX and the top of the line SX(O) variants. The SX+ is only available with the 1.5L NA petrol engine in either manual or automatic forms.
It gets LED headlights, front parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. It also gets heated and ventilated seats, and mostly has all the features from the top of the line SX(O) variant. Another interesting addition is the availability of wireless Apple CarPlay via an additional dongle which can be fitted to the SX, SX+ and the SX(O) variants. This comes for an additional Rs 4,500.
The Verna SX+ gets the 1.5L NA petrol engine only which produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It can be either paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed IVT. Here is the pricing of the two variants available:
- Verna SX+ 1.5L NA MT– Rs 13.79 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Verna SX+ 1.5L NA IVT– Rs 15.04 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Verna only has a few competitors in the segment. It goes against the likes of the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus and the Skoda Slavia.
