Threat of Nuclear Water War

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the former foreign minister of Pakistan, has issued a grave warning to India, claiming that the country is instigating a potential nuclear water conflict by halting water supplies to Pakistan.

Foundations of a Nuclear Water War

During a speech at the Middle East Institute in Washington, Zardari remarked, "In light of the impending climate challenges, the concept of water scarcity and conflicts over water has transitioned from theory to reality. India's actions in cutting off Pakistan's water supply are paving the way for the first nuclear water war."

Water Supply as an Act of War

He further emphasized that Pakistan has made it abundantly clear that any disruption to their water supply would be considered an act of war. Zardari urged India to retract its decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, expressing hope that the country would honor existing agreements.

Call for Reconciliation at the UN

On June 4, Bhutto addressed a gathering at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, advocating for dialogue and intelligence sharing between India and Pakistan. He highlighted the significant losses Pakistan has endured following attempts to target Indian military and civilian sites after Operation Sindoor.

Damage Assessment from Operation Sindoor

Recent assessments indicate that the Indian Air Force inflicted substantial damage on the Pakistan Air Force, with reports suggesting the destruction of six PAF fighter jets, two high-value aircraft, over ten unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), and a C-130 transport aircraft, along with numerous cruise missiles.

Advocating for Intelligence Cooperation

In a surprising twist, Bhutto proposed collaboration between the intelligence agencies of Pakistan and India to combat terrorism in South Asia. He expressed confidence that if the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) could work together, there would be a notable reduction in terrorism affecting both nations. His conciliatory approach reflects the profound impact of the recent military actions on Pakistan and the urgent need for peace.
