Israeli army recovered two more bodies of hostages, PM Netanyahu said this

Tel Aviv: Israeli has returned the bodies of two Israeli-Americans held hostage during the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023. The officials gave this information on Thursday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the bodies of Judih Veenstein and Gaid Haggai have been recovered and brought to Israel through a special campaign conducted by the army and internal security agency ‘Shin Bet’.

Kibutj Neer Oz confirmed the death of Veenstein and Haggai in December 2023. The Israeli army reported that the two were killed in the October 7 attack and their bodies were recently found from the city of Khan Younus in Southern Gaza.

10 Palestinian citizens died

According to the hospital report, at least 10 Palestinian citizens died overnight during the Israeli attacks in Khan Younis. Gaza’s Health Ministry said that three local journalists died and six people were injured in an attack on Al-Ahli Hospital campus in Gaza city. The identification of those journalists or their media institutes has not been revealed yet. The Israeli army has said that it is investigating the report of this attack.

More than 180 journalists died

The army claims that it only targets terrorists and Hamas is responsible for the casualties of the citizens. According to a report by New York’s ‘Committee to Protect Journalists’, more than 180 journalists and media personnel have been killed during the Israel-Hamas conflict, most of whom have died in Gaza. Israel says that most of the people who died in their attacks were hidden as a journalist as a terrorist.

Targeting citizens

Significantly, on October 7, Hamas militants killed an attack on Israel and killed about 1,200 people, most of which were common citizens. Along with this, Hamas abducted 251 people and taken hostage. At the moment, there are still 56 hostage in Hamas’s possession, about one third of which is expected to be alive. In addition, Hamas released some hostages under ceasefire agreements and other deals.
