An unlucky contestant on was left red-faced after fluffing what many viewers might consider a straightforward question, and even branded herself "thick" after her blunder.
The hit ITV quiz show, fronted by comedian , is notorious for throwing brain-bending teasers at contestants. But this particular question left one player especially embarrassed.
Those who reach the show's final round face the infamous 1% question, with a tantalising £100,000 jackpot up for grabs. But for one hopeful, it was a picture round that proved their downfall.

The question was, "Which of these Vincent van Gogh self-portraits has been altered?"
With just 30 seconds on the clock, players had to scrutinise three portraits of the Dutch master. The answer was image C - which cheekily showed Van Gogh sporting a pair of earbuds, a marvel given he died in 1890, nearly a century before the tech was invented.
The image also nodded to the artist's well-known act of self-mutilation, after he famously severed part of his ear following a heated argument with fellow painter Paul Gauguin.
Four contestants missed the clue, including Margaret, who was quick to deliver a brutal verdict on her own performance. When confronted by Lee, she said: "Thick as two short planks," drawing chuckles from the audience.

In another recent episode, at the 30% part of the game, 12 players dropped out after becoming baffled by another seemingly easy mathematical problem. Guests had been shown a cartoon photo of a calculator ahead of the challenge.
They were then asked: "What's the largest four-digit number you can type using just the number keys on the bottom two rows of this calculator without using the same number key twice?"
All of those still in the game had a 30-second limit to solve the problem, which almost a third of the nation would have correctly deduced. Lee later revealed the answer to be '3210'.
