Rodrygo shows true colours amid brutal Carlo Ancelotti decision and Arsenal transfer update

Reported target Rodrygo has shown his true colours with a supportive Instagram post for his Brazil teammates, despite being surprisingly left out of the squad by his former manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Brazil were held to a 0-0 draw against Ecuador in World Cup qualifying in the early hours of Friday morning. Rodrygo, along with Neymar, was a surprise omission from Ancelotti’s first squad since being named head coach at the end of last month.

Ancelotti, who previously coached Rodrygo at , explained that the decision to leave out the wingers was due to minor injuries, while also providing opportunities to players in strong club form. Despite being excluded from the squad for the matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, Rodrygo was still watching and showing support from afar, sharing an Instagram story of the game on TV, accompanied by green and yellow heart emojis.

Rodrygo faces an uncertain future at the Bernabeu following the arrival of new head coach Xabi Alonso, though reports remain conflicted over whether he will actively push for a move this summer. Some sections of the Spanish media suggest he is unhappy with his role in the Madrid squad, while others claim he is determined to fight for his place as a new era is set to begin next term.

Regardless, that the 24-year-old is a top target for Arsenal this summer, with keen to bolster his attacking options. Rodrygo’s versatility across the front three is seen as a major asset, placing him high on the Gunners’ shortlist.

He is not the club’s only target for the left wing, however, with the report also naming Nico Williams, Leroy Sane, and Morgan Rogers as players of interest. Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, is said to be focused on bringing in proven quality this summer after the team came up short in both the Premier League and Champions League last season.
