A gang of schoolchildren from Valencia allegedly raped a classmate during a school sports trip to Malaga. The boy was just 13 at the time and suffered severe trauma that left him in a catatonic state, a court has heard. Adding insult to injury, the young victim, now 16, was also allegedly blackmailed by his attackers.
Fearing his younger brother would also be targeted, the pupil felt forced to keep silent about his horrific ordeal. The boy had already been singled out by the school bullies prior to their trip to Malaga, it has been claimed.

He had been relentlessly mocked for his acne and glasses, as well as exclusion from some events.
However the level of bullying escalated horrifically once the school party arrived in Malaga in March 2022.
A gang of bullies allegedly ambushed the then 13-year-old in the hallway of a hotel before they forced him into a bathroom.
He was then reportedly raped by five of the bullies, while others looked on and cheered.
Some of them reportedly shouted "let him suffer, let him suffer, I want to see him suffer".
The victim was then blackmailed into staying silent, after threats were made against his younger brother.
He was constantly harassed by the gang, with one member ringing him 300 times, it is claimed. Threats were also sent to him via social media.
The 13-year-old boy endured a further two months of humiliation before he collapsed into his mother's arms and fell into a catatonic state.
He was taken to hospital and later admitted three more times over 35 days.
The alarm was raised by the psychologist who reported the alleged attack and abuse to the school and the police.
The boy was able to tell police the names of his attackers, but was unable to recall some of the details.
One person has been charged in Valencia's Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, two years after the alleged gang rape attack.
They could face 15 months behind bars if found guilty of the crime. Other alleged members of this group were either too young to be criminally charged or they have not proven to be involved yet.
The victim, now 16, was left with "chronic post-traumatic stress disorder with severe episodes of dissociative amnesia", according to local Spanish newspapers.
