They have to cancel their journey.
But let us tell you that if you do not cancel your ticket in time in flight and train. Then you suffer a loss. Know when do you get full refund on cancelling flight and train tickets. What are the rules of railway and airline companies regarding refund.
Rules for refund in flight
In India, lakhs of people travel by flight every day. In such a situation, many times people's flights get cancelled. Many times many people cancel their flight tickets themselves. Let us tell you that if an airline company cancels a flight, then you get two options from the airline company. Either it gives you another flight or you get a full refund.
Apart from this, if a passenger cancels his ticket himself, then he has to pay an airfare charge of Rs 3500 if he cancels the ticket within 3 days before the flight takes off. On the other hand, if he does it before 3 days, then Rs 3000 is deducted from him. But if he cancels the ticket a week i.e. 7 days before, then he gets a full refund. These rules are for domestic flights.
Rules for refund in train tickets
More than 2.5 crore people travel by train daily in India. If you cancel the ticket in the train before the chart is prepared. So you have to pay different amount according to different classes. If you cancel the ticket 48 hours before the departure of the train, then Rs 120 will be deducted from your ticket in sleeper class. Rs 180 will be deducted in AC chair car and third AC.
Rs 240 will be charged in second AC-first AC and Rs 240 in executive class. If you cancel your confirmed ticket after 48 hours or before 12 hours, then you have to pay 25% of the total ticket amount. If your ticket is in the waiting list or in RAC, then you get a full refund. If any train has been cancelled by the railways, then also you get a full refund.
