Delay at Jalgaon Airport
Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, found himself stuck at Jalgaon Airport for over an hour after the pilot refused to take off. Reports indicate that Shinde arrived at the airport at 9:15 PM, but the pilot cited delays and declined to fly, stating it was beyond their duty hours. Following a 45-minute discussion in a closed room involving ministers Girish Mahajan, Gulabrao Patil, and district officials, the flight was eventually cleared for takeoff. Initially, Shinde's flight was scheduled to land at 3:45 PM, but due to technical issues, it only arrived at 6:15 PM.
Journey to Muktaai Nagar
After a delay of two and a half hours, Shinde traveled by road from Jalgaon to Muktaai Nagar to participate in the Sant Muktaai Palakhi Yatra. Following his participation and prayers at the Sant Muktaai Temple, he returned to Jalgaon Airport at 9:15 PM. Interestingly, Shinde's late arrival at the airport turned out to be a blessing for a woman in need of urgent kidney treatment, who had to reach Mumbai immediately. Sheetal Patil had missed her scheduled flight and was stranded at Jalgaon Airport. Upon learning about her situation, Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan, who was accompanying Shinde, arranged for her and her husband to board Shinde's flight to Mumbai.
A Leader's Sensitivity
Reflecting on the incident, Mahajan noted that Eknath Shinde has not forgotten his struggles and has shown great sensitivity towards the common man.
