Access Issues Reported in US, UK, and India:

Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The most popular video-sharing platform in the world-Youtube, suffered from a service outage which affected a large number of customers across the globe. As per the Downdetector, a service monitoring website reported having a huge spike in user issues from India, The United Kingdom and United States.

Nature and Scope of the Outage

As per video playback reports, users were having issues watching videos. Users reported that videos were stalling out mid loading or taking a ridiculous amount of time to buffer. These issues were reported on both the YouTube mobile application and desktop version.

Reported Complaints By Each Region

In the United States, Downdetector reported getting more than 5,000 complaints.

79% with issues pertaining to website

3% with app issues

18% with streaming issues

In The United Kingdom, About 1,800 reports were submitted.
78 Of them concerned accessing the browser
2% with the app access
20% with failure to stream
In the India region 360 complaints were raised.

68% reported issues with using the website
5% with the mobile browser
27% with accessing the stream

With Geographical Location And The Spread For The Fault

According to the map shared by Downdetector lifts, surge of issues reported were throughout both domestic regions and around the globe in all three countries mentioned. The fact that the complaints were similar regardless of device type indicates the issue stemmed from YouTube server and not specific user devices.

Sercives Recovery and Google’s Position

To this time, Google has not provided a detailed statement on the cause of said problem with services. restictions have been lifted for many users already. For those still with issues, it is suggested to clear the YouTube app cache or restart the application in order to bring services back.
