Shreyas Iyer Shines in IPL 2025
Shreyas Iyer, who has made a significant impact with his captaincy and performance in IPL 2025, is currently in the spotlight. Under his leadership, the Punjab Kings reached the finals, and he has consistently delivered outstanding performances over the last two IPL seasons, accumulating impressive runs with the bat. However, Iyer has been absent from the Indian T20 team for an extended period. While he has made a comeback in One Day Internationals, he was once again overlooked for the Test squad. Nevertheless, he has re-entered the race for captaincy in white-ball cricket.
According to media reports, an official has indicated that Iyer's exceptional performance in the IPL has placed him back in contention for captaincy. In a conversation with a media outlet, the official mentioned that although he is currently only playing ODIs, it would be difficult to exclude him from T20 internationals and Tests following this IPL season. Furthermore, he is now officially in the running for the captaincy of the white-ball formats.
