Celebrities have been voicing out against harassment in all forms. Johny Lever’s daughter Jamie Lever disclosed details from her school days, an encounter with a man who conducted unacceptable actions and another instance when the school bus conductor inappropriately touched her.
In conversation with Hautterfly, she shared her experience at the age of 12 years old when a man stood in front of her and her friend when they were waiting for their brother after school. He began touching himself that left the young girls traumatised.
Her friend suggested to avoid the strange man and move ahead, “I was very scared. I was shaking. I slowly moved and locked the car. After a while, he realised that we weren’t paying any attention to him. He left. I was just 10 or 12 then.”
She also shared her ‘bad dream’ when the bus conductor misbehaved. “He was supposed to be our protector, but instead, he would touch us and hold us. For me, all these incidents are like a bad dream. I don’t want to revisit these incidents,” she said.
Lever added that such unfortunate incidents happened with her even when she studied at college. She mentioned the story of Mumbai’s Andheri station when a man abruptly arrived and flashed to her. She asked, “When it can happen with me, who was supposedly in one of the best schools, then how can I be sure that this won’t happen to my kids.”
