Paris Saint-Germain are keen to get a deal to sign Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi (22) over the line. As per a report from The team, the defender has now informed his current club of his desire to sign for the European champions.
The centre-back position is the area that PSG are most pressed to address. Marquinhos may leave the club this summer, but even if he does not, the captain is expected to play a reduced role next season. There is therefore an element of succession planning.
Zabarnyi has been identified as the priority target. Bournemouth are demanding €70m for the Ukrainian, a fee not yet offered by Parisians. Negotiations are ongoing between the clubs. The player in question is keen on the move, to the extent that he has informed the hierarchy at Bournemouth of his desire to make the move to the Parc des Princes.
In order to have Zabarnyi available for the FIFA Club World Cup, PSG will have to move quickly. The deadline for the Club World Cup transfer window is on Tuesday.
