
In a major boost for billionaire Mukesh Ambani Asias richest man his Reliance Industries emerged as the biggest gainer in the stock market last week adding a staggering Rs 30786.38 crore to its market cap which now stands at Rs 1953480.09 crore. As per market data nine of Indias top-10 most valued firms added a combined Rs 100850.96 crore in market valuation last week with Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank emerging as show-stealers with maximum gain in line with an optimistic trend in equities. Reliance Industries HDFC Bank Bharti Airtel ICICI Bank State Bank of India Infosys Life Insurance Corporation of India Bajaj Finance and Hindustan Unilever Ltd were the gainers while Tata Groups Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) -- Indias largest IT services exporter-- was the only laggard among the top-10 firms. 9 of top-10 firms witness mcap surge TCS only laggard The market capitalisation (mcap) of Reliance Industries jumped Rs 30786.38 crore to Rs 1953480.09 crore while HDFC Banks valuation surged Rs 26668.23 crore to Rs 1515853.85 crore. Bajaj Finance added Rs 12322.96 crore taking its valuation to Rs 582469.45 crore Hindustan Unilevers mcap zoomed Rs 9280.89 crore to Rs 561282.11 crore while the valuation of Bharti Airtel climbed Rs 7127.63 crore to Rs 1065894.55 crore and that of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) advanced Rs 3953.12 crore to Rs 607073.28 crore. Narayana Murthy-led Infosys added Rs 519.27 crore to its mcap which stood at Rs 649739.73 crore and the market cap of State Bank of India (SBI) went up Rs 401.61 crore to Rs 725437.74 crore. However TCS emerged as the only laggard among the top-10 firms losing Rs 28510.53 crore of its valuation which currently stands at Rs 1224975.89 crore.
