
Filmmaker Partho Ghosh known for directing some of Indian cinemas most memorable films has passed away at the age of 75. He suffered a heart attack on Monday morning at his residence in Mumbais Madh Island. The tragic news was confirmed by actor Rituparna Sengupta. Gosh is survived by his wife Gouri Gosh. In her emotional tribute to Gosh Sengupta wrote Heartbroken beyond words. We have lost an exceptional talent a visionary director and a kind soul. Partho da you will always be remembered for the magic you created on screen. Rest in peace. Known for his distinctive narratives and interesting storytelling he was known for directing some of the most impactful films like Teesra Kaun (1994) Agni Sakshi (1996) Ghulam-E-Musthafa’(1997) Teesra Kaun? (1994) and Yugpurush (1998). His unique ability to blend naturalism with mainstream cinema stuck a chord with audiences across generations. One of his most impressive project Agni Sakshi which starred Manisha Koirala Jackie Shroff and Nana Patekar became a milestone film in his career. His another film Ghulam-E-Musthafa starring Nana Patekar and Raveena Tandon remained a cult classic too. Apart from directing many iconic films he also directed numerous Hindi and Bengali television shows. He took a short break from films and made a comeback in 2018 with the romantic drama Mausam Ikrar Ke Do Pal Pyaar Ke starring Mukesh J Bharti Madalsa Sharma and Avinash Wadhawan. Though the film didnt create a massive buzz but truly reflected his passion for storytelling.
