Sometimes insulin gets stuck in fat cells i.e. adipocytes, due to which it cannot be used. Due to this, glucose remains present in the blood and the blood sugar level increases.

How to check blood sugar?
It is very common for blood sugar levels to increase immediately after eating food. However, sometimes the sugar level increases a lot, reaching up to 350 mg/dL. In such a situation, the question arises whether this is safe? Let us know from the experts what to do if the sugar level reaches 350?
What causes the problem?
Dr. Manisha Arora, Director of Internal Medicine Department at CK Birla Hospital, Delhi, said that if the body is not producing enough insulin or the body starts developing insulin resistance, then insulin is not produced properly. Many times insulin gets stuck in fat cells i.e. adipocytes, due to which it cannot be used. Due to this, glucose remains present in the blood and the blood sugar level increases.
How is insulin produced in the body?
Insulin is produced in our body in two ways. The first method is basal secretion, in which insulin is produced even when fasting. The second method is bolus secretion, in which insulin starts being produced as soon as food is eaten. Eating high glycemic or carbohydrate foods like sweets or cakes increases the blood sugar level very rapidly. According to Dr. Arora, blood sugar level can also increase due to steroid medicines, taking too much stress or many already existing serious diseases.
According to Dr. Rajeev Kovil, Head of Diabetes Department at Jhandra Healthcare, eating high carbohydrate and sugary foods increases blood sugar levels rapidly. Due to this, blood sugar levels can reach up to 350 mg/dL. It is worth noting that not using insulin or oral medicines and taking the wrong dose of insulin can also cause this problem.
How to control suddenly increased blood sugar level?
Dr Arora said that if the sugar level increases rapidly after eating food, then there is a need to adopt a healthy lifestyle. He said that for this, it is more beneficial to eat foods with more nutrients and low glycemic index. Regular exercise is also very important to control blood sugar level. Also, it is important to decide the time to take medicines.
