Modi's Governance and Social Welfare Initiatives
BJP President J.P. Nadda emphasized that the governance and welfare initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration will be recorded in golden letters. He asserted that Modi has transformed the political culture in the country, making the government accountable. Nadda pointed out that eleven years ago, political culture revolved around appeasement and fragmenting society to secure power. However, since 2014, under Modi's leadership, a responsible and accountable government has emerged, initiating a politics of transparency and accountability.
Modi's Impact on Political Culture
Nadda clearly stated that the central government led by Modi has changed the political culture in India over the past eleven years. The mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' has guided their progress. The nation had doubted its feasibility, yet the Modi government successfully abrogated Article 370. Voter turnout in the Lok Sabha was 58.46%, while the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections saw a turnout of 63%. These changes are attributed to the bold decisions made by the Modi administration.
Public-Driven Governance
Nadda remarked that the Modi government is a public-driven administration. In recent years, they have introduced transparency and established a visionary, future-oriented governance model. This is why they speak of a developed India. The last eleven years have laid a strong foundation for a self-reliant and developed nation. Before 2014, the previous government was marred by corruption and negativity, but this sentiment has shifted under Modi's leadership. Now, people proudly say, 'With Modi, anything is possible.'
He added that in the last decade, they have addressed the concerns of all societal segments, including SC, ST, and OBC communities. The government has also promoted women's leadership development, from training women as pilots to commissioning them in the army, and facilitating admissions in military schools and NDA. Initiatives like the removal of Article 370 and the abolition of triple talaq, along with the introduction of a new Waqf Act and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), have been significant milestones. Furthermore, they have ensured 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.
