Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case Live Updates: A significant breakthrough has occurred in the Meghalaya Honeymoon murder investigation with the arrest of Sonam Raghuvanshi. The 24-year-old was discovered near a roadside eatery on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway on Monday. Initially, she was taken to Sadar Hospital for medical attention before being moved to the Sakhi One Stop Centre, as reported by Amitabh Yash, ADG Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh. It has been noted that Sonam contacted her brother to assure him of her safety. Following this, the Madhya Pradesh police were notified and have since traveled to take her into custody.

Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, confirmed the progress in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case and praised the state police's efforts. He mentioned that three suspects have been apprehended, and operations are ongoing to capture one remaining suspect. Meghalaya's DGP, Idashisha Nongrang, indicated that Sonam is believed to have played a role in her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder during their honeymoon, allegedly hiring hitmen for the act.

According to Raja’s brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, he learned about Sonam’s whereabouts around 2 AM from her brother, Govind. They subsequently alerted the Uttar Pradesh police, who took her into custody.

Vipul stated, “I spoke to Govind around 2 AM. He informed me that Sonam was located in Uttar Pradesh. After we contacted UP Police, she was taken into custody. She did not surrender. We will not accept that Sonam is the perpetrator unless she confesses.”

Vipul Raghuvanshi also revealed crucial information regarding Raj Kushwaha, hinting at Sonam’s involvement in the murder. He mentioned that he was initially unaware of the identities of those arrested, but upon hearing Raj’s name, he recognized him. Reports indicate that Sonam and Raj Kushwaha were romantically involved, and she allegedly plotted to kill Raja due to this affair.
