After being missing for 17 days since May 23, Sonam has been located. Authorities in Ghazipur have taken her into custody, suspecting that she may have hired individuals to kill her husband. Reports indicate that Sonam managed to contact her brother during this time, assuring him of her safety.
Sonam, originally from Indore, was discovered early Monday morning in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Following the notification of her whereabouts, police from Indore swiftly traveled to Ghazipur to apprehend her. Sources indicate that she was found in a distressed condition and is currently residing at the Sakhi One Stop Centre, a facility designed for women who have experienced violence.

In an interview with the media, Devi Singh, Sonam's father, stated, "Sonam visited a dhaba in Ghazipur and called her brother, Govind. The police arrived and took her to the station." He vehemently denied the accusations against her, asserting, "These allegations are 100% false."
He further expressed his concerns, saying, "The police are confused... I urge for a CBI investigation to clarify how the items found near the body were connected." When questioned about how Sonam arrived at the dhaba, he remarked, "Only Sonam can explain that. The couple had Rs 70,000, and Raja possessed a chain and two rings, while Sonam had a chain, bracelet, anklet, and cash with her."
