Despite falling out of the top five at the North American box office, Final Destination: Bloodlines continues its strong run, inching closer to a major domestic milestone. The film, which released on May 16, is on track to surpass Jordan Peele’s Nope and secure its place as one of the top 10 highest-grossing horror films in the post-COVID era.

According to a report by Luiz Fernando on X (formerly Twitter), the supernatural thriller collected $1.9 million on its fourth Friday, bringing its domestic total to $118.9 million. This marks just a 39.8% drop from the previous Friday, despite the film losing 267 theaters — a clear indication of strong word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest.

With Nope standing at a $123.3 million domestic total, Bloodlines is projected to surpass it soon. Industry projections estimate the film will earn between $6.5–$7 million over its fourth three-day weekend, pushing it closer to that benchmark.

Worldwide Success Story

Globally, Final Destination: Bloodlines is thriving. After earning $10.9 million during its third weekend internationally, the film’s overseas cume reached $128.2 million. Its worldwide total currently stands at $247.18 million, and it’s expected to cross the $250 million milestone this weekend — an exceptional achievement for a horror film.

This latest entry in the long-running Final Destination franchise proves that compelling content still drives theatrical success, regardless of big-budget competition. Its performance, especially in a crowded summer season, highlights the franchise’s enduring appeal and the audience’s appetite for well-crafted supernatural thrillers.
