

One of the most successful captains of Indian cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been included in the Hall of Fame by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This honor was given to him on 9 June 2025, which came about a month before his 44th birthday. Dhoni has become the 11th Indian cricketer to join this prestigious list.
The highest honor of cricket contribution received after five years
MS Dhoni was awarded this honor five years after his retirement from his international cricket. He played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi -finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup. After this, he announced his retirement through social media on 15 August 2020.
From the beginning of ‘Captain Cool’ to the flight of success
Born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Dhoni made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2004. In his fifth innings, a bang of 148 runs against Pakistan gave him recognition in international cricket. In 2007, he was made the captain of India’s ODI team and soon led the team to new heights under his captaincy.
