After the approval of the Supreme Court, the National Board of Examination i.e. NBE is going to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam next month i.e. on August 3. The official notice states that as per the approval of the Supreme Court, the NEET PG exam will be conducted on August 3 in a single shift. Earlier this exam was to be held in two shifts on June 15, but later it was changed and it was decided to take the exam in August.
Since now the NEET PG exam will be conducted in a single shift, NBE has requested the students to re-submit the option of exam city. The exam city will be selected by the candidates based on 'first come first serve'. The process of selecting the city will open on June 13 and close on June 17.
The official notice states, 'While submitting the online application form, the candidates will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available. The allocation of space in the selected exam city will be done by NBEMS.
The exam will be computer-based
The NEET PG 2025 exam will be computer-based and will be conducted in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). For this, there is a plan to set up more than 1,000 examination centers in 250 cities across the country. About 60 thousand people including the site in-charge, system operator, security personnel, lab manager, and electrician will be involved in the conduct of the examination.
What did the court say about the exam?
On May 30, a bench of Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice NK Anjaria, while announcing the conduct of the exam in a single shift, had said, 'Examining two shifts leads to arbitrariness and does not ensure equal opportunity. The question papers in two shifts can never be of the same difficulty level, while last year it was conducted in two shifts due to the specific circumstances of the time. The examination body should have tried to examine a single shift this year.'
