
Renowned actor Javed Sheikh recently shared a surprising behind-the-scenes incident from the 1993 film Chief Sahibduring an appearance on Madiha Naqvi’s show alongside fellow stars Jan Rambo, Saud, and Babar Ali.
When the host asked which actress was known for taking the most retakes, all the actors unanimously named Meerasharing amusing anecdotes from their time working with her.
Javed Sheikh recalled filming in Turkey, where Meera played the daughter of a wealthy man, portrayed by Asif Khan. He explained, “I had clearly told Meera to wear jeans and a shirt for the scene. But she returned from a neighbor’s house wearing a skirt and shirt. Apparently, she had borrowed the outfit from a local girl.”
The unexpected wardrobe change caused tension on set. “I got really angry,” Sheikh admitted. “I told my assistant, ‘Let’s shoot a different scene.’”
He further revealed that this was one of many quirky moments while working with Meera, known for her unpredictable behavior on set.
In another segment of the show, Javed Sheikh expressed regret over doing the film Sheles tallidespite its popularity. “People started calling me Sheeda Talli in real life,” he said, “and I really didn’t like that. It’s one of the few films I genuinely regret doing.”
The candid conversation provided fans with both laughter and insight into the challenges and unpredictability of working in Lollywood during its golden era.
