The Duke of Sussex was reportedly talked out of changing his surname by Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer. An expert claims it sends "a terrible message" to the Royal Family and is a sign of Prince Harry "not knowing what he wants to do".
Harry was, according to reports, considering changing his name from Mountbatten-Windsor to Spencer - his mother's maiden name. Former Sun Royal Correspondent Charles Rae suggested the reports show Harry, 40, isn't sure on his next steps, and it is a sign he has changed his mind after seeking reconciliation with his family. He told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show: "It was only less than a month ago that he was pleading for a reconciliation with his father and his brother.
"And the next thing we hear, and I think the story was well sourced, he wants to change the name from Mountbatten-Windsor to Spencer.
"Well, that is sending a terrible message to the that he doesn't really want a reconciliation."
