If you are a Bollywood girlie you must have had one dream of recreating Tip Tip Barsa Paani in that yellow chiffon saree in your childhood. She ruled the silver screen in the 90s with smouldering eyes power-packed performances and unforgettable movies. Yes you guessed it right! We are talking about Raveena Tandon. While Raveena Tandon exuded boldness on screen she had one firm line she never crossed — no kissing scenes. Now in a candid interview the actress has revealed a deeply uncomfortable moment from her early career — one that left her physically nauseous and emotionally shaken. Did Raveena Tandon have a no-kissing contract? Raveena explained that while she never signed a formal no-kissing contract her stance was well known within the industry: she would not lock lips on screen. But during the shoot of an intense scene with a male co-star her boundary was suddenly unintentionally crossed. Washed her mouth a hundred times! “It was a rough scene — a bit of a push-and-pull moment” she recalled. “And in that chaos his lips accidentally brushed mine. It wasn’t part of the script. There was no need for it. It just happened. But I felt sick. I couldn’t bear it.” What followed was a visceral reaction. The actress immediately left the set rushed to her room and threw up. “I went straight to the bathroom and started brushing my teeth again and again. I washed my mouth a hundred times. I just couldn’t get over the feeling. I was utterly disgusted.” To her relief the actor involved did apologise later acknowledging that the incident was purely accidental. “He didn’t mean it” she added. “It just happened in the flow of the scene. He said sorry after the shot.” While the incident may have faded with time Raveena’s reaction reveals the emotional toll such breaches can carry even if unintentional. It also underscores the quiet battles many actresses of the era fought — holding their own in a male-dominated industry even while setting boundaries. From stardom to silent scars Raveena’s revelation is a haunting reminder of the lines that shouldn’t be blurred — even in fiction.
