

Hindu Countries in World: Apart from India, there is only one country in the world where the population of Hindus is more than 50 percent or rather there are Hindus in these countries. This figure is less than the number of Buddhist dominated countries. Now, if we talk about Muslim countries, there are 48 countries in the world where people who believe in Islam are majority. According to the 2011 census, India’s total population was 121 crore of which 97 crore are Hindus, which is 79.8 per cent of the total population. After Hindus, Muslims have the highest population of 14.2 percent. 17.22 crore people believe in Islam. Compared to 2001, in 2011, there was a significant decline in India’s Hindu population.
Hindu population decreased and Muslims increased in two decades
If we talk about the 2001 census, then the population of Hindus in India was 80.5 percent. In 1991, 82.4 percent were Hindus. In these two decades, there has been a tremendous decline in the population of Hindus. If we talk about Muslims, they had a population of 13.4 percent in 2001 and 11.7 percent in 1991.
And in which country do Hindus live?
Apart from India, Nepal is a country where Hindus are majority. According to the 2021 census, 81.19 percent people here are of Hinduism. Buddhists, Islam and Christian religion also live in Nepal, but the census saw that the number of people of Hindu and Buddhism declined, while the population of Muslim and Christianity increased. There are fourteen lakh eighty thousand Muslim population here, which is about 5.09% of the total population.
What is the status of Hindus in other countries?
Apart from India and Nepal, Mauritius also has a large Hindu population, but it is only 48 percent. The remaining 32 percent people are Christians and 18 percent are Muslims. Similarly, 23 percent of Hindus reside in Bhutan, here Buddhists are majority. Malaysia has 5.8 %, 13.7 percent in Sri Lanka and 8.2 percent of Hindu population in Bangladesh. Whereas in countries like America, Britain, Indonesia and Pakistan, only 1 to 1.6% of the total population is Hindu.
Muslims are majority in 48 countries
Now, if we talk about Muslim countries, according to the World Population Review, more than 50 percent of the population of 48 countries around the world considers Islam. Of these, 32 are countries where more than 90 percent of the total population is Muslim, while more than 99 percent of the population of 9 countries considers Islam. There are 16 countries in the world where 95 to 98 percent of the population is of massers and there are seven countries where 94 to 90 percent of the population lives Muslims. There are only two countries where fifty to 55 % of the population is of Muslims. In the remaining 10 decades, 60 to 80 % of the total population lives.
