
Former Guajrat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was onboard the ill-fated Air India flight has passed away along with xx other deaceased passengers.
The AI-171 Air India Dreamliner 787 flight from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick airport crashed minutes after takeoff from Sardar Vallabbhai International Airport.
The aircraft had 242 people onboard including two pilots and 10 cabin crew members.
As per the report, Rupani's was visiting his daughter who lives in London and was therefore, aboard the aircraft.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said that he is also very said that (BJP leader) Vijay Rupani was also in the flight. He further said that there will be a fair and thorough probe.
"I am totally shaken by the tragic and horrific incident. I am still in a state of shock. The PM called me and asked me to be here at the site. At this time, I can only think of the passengers and their families. Many agencies have been engaged in rescue operations. I don't want to say anything about the numbers yet. We are extending all help. The Union Home Minister is also coming to the site here. Very sad to know that (BJP leader) Vijay Rupani was also there, and so were other nationals. We are going to do a fair and thorough investigation. We will go to the depths of why this incident happened," said Naidu.
