In a display of powerful hitting and fearless intent, Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd took apart England’s veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid, launching five sixes in a single over during the second T20I at Bristol.
With the West Indies battling to post a competitive total, the pair unleashed their onslaught in the 19th over. Rashid, brought on to stem the momentum, instead became the victim.
Holder began the over with a hat-trick of astounding sixes, aggressively targeting middle and off stump. Shepherd then joined the bash, smashing two successive big hits. The result was a relentless barrage of sixes, injecting over 31 runs into the total and lifting Caribbean spirits late in the innings.
This blistering over epitomised the High‑octane brand of West Indies T20 cricket. Needing quick runs in the death overs, Holder’s early assault made the over unplayable for Rashid. Shepherd then seamlessly continued the assault, showcasing the duo’s intent and timing.
Their onslaught momentarily swung the momentum firmly into the West Indies’ favour, setting up a dramatic finale that had fans on the edge of their seats. West Indies posted a formidable 196/6, thanks in large part to the 19th over featuring Holder and Shepherd's energy surge.
