Pre-monsoon rain will start soon
Pre-monsoon rain will initially affect Kota and Udaipur divisions, gradually spreading to Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions by June 20.
Weather experts have predicted average rainfall in the entire state till June 20, while above average rainfall is expected between June 20 and June 26.
Monsoon likely to arrive after June 19
The normal onset of monsoon in Rajasthan is around June 25, but this year, it is expected to enter the state slightly earlier, around June 19.
Currently, the monsoon system is stuck over Mumbai, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) and Siliguri (Northeast India), where it has not shown any progress since May 29.
Scorching heat continues to lash the state and will continue till June 15.
Thursday was the hottest day of the season in Jaipur, where the mercury reached 45.2 degrees Celsius.
Tourist spots like Jal Mahal wore a deserted look due to the extreme conditions.
City-wise temperature highlights (last 24 hours)
Ganganagar recorded the highest temperature of 47.8 degrees Celsius.
Kota recorded a temperature of 46.3 degrees Celsius, while Bikaner and Jaipur recorded 45.2 degrees Celsius and Ajmer 44 degrees Celsius.
Overall, 19 cities recorded maximum temperatures above 44 °C, indicating widespread and intense heat.
