What to make of the Glasgow school physics teacher who, dissatisfied with her salary, decided to augment it by posting racy pictures of herself on the online site OnlyFans? To her slight astonishment, Kirsty Buchan quickly discovered that photos of herself in skimpy lingerie could net her more in a month it took her a year to earn teaching quantum mechanics in the classroom.

You won't be surprised to learn that Kirsty - an engaging, straight-talking mother of a teenage son, whose poor health was, she says, the main reason she posted the pictures - is no longer a teacher. Almost within hours of the first batch of photos appearing (under her pseudonym 'Jessica Jackrabbit' with the tagline: 'Good teacher gone bad... VERY bad) the images had leaked from the pay-for-view website and her pupils, agog, were excitedly sharing them during school assembly.

Although she says that far from mocking or criticising her, the pupils - aged between 17 and 18 - were amused, broad-minded and supportive, her employers were somewhat less enamoured with 'Jessica Jackrabbit.'

Scotland's general teaching council said Ms Buchan had "used her profession as a selling tool", appeared to have justified her actions in newspaper interviews and that Bannerman High School was now "synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher".

She had shown "zero insight" and should be made to wait two years before re-applying for a teaching job. Kirsty, in fact, resigned after a successful decade of teaching and says she won't return to the profession she loved.

"I have an everyday body and don't mind showing my flaws," she said. "I don't like narrow-minded people who make judgements on those they don't know."

Was her behaviour immoral? Hardly. Models the world over pose for photos in skimpy lingerie which appear in mainstream publications such as newspapers and women's magazines. For many, it's their sole source of income and they pay tax on it.

Was she naive? Yes, in that it was hopelessly optimistic of her to believe the photos wouldn't migrate from a 'secure' website and turn up at school assembly, sooner rather than later.

But more importantly, was anyone actually harmed? No. Only Kirsty herself.
