On his 60th birthday, Aamir made headlines once more by officially presenting his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the media. Previously, Aamir was first married to Reena Dutta. From his first marriage to Reena, Aamir has two children, Junaid and Ira. The actor and his second wife, director Kiran Rao, tied the knot in 2005 and separated in 2021. They continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
In a recent interview, Aamir reflected on his journey, candidly discussing his shy younger self, his changing views on relationships, and the enduring connections he maintains with his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. Despite the conclusion of both marriages, Aamir emphasized the mutual respect, affection, and strong familial bonds that continue to connect them.

In an interview with Mashable, when asked about his dating experiences during his early days in Bandra, Aamir humorously dismissed the notion with a laugh. "Dating-wating kaha karte the hum log, dating kaha hoti thi yaar? Main bohot shy type ka banda hoon, aur hamesha se aisa hi tha," he admitted, revealing that he was never the outgoing, romantic type in his youth. Instead, he characterized himself as introverted and reserved regarding matters of the heart.

The discussion soon turned to his relationships after divorce, particularly with his ex-wives. Aamir shared that he remains close to both Reena and Kiran, stating, "I am very fond of both my ex-wives. They are still very much a part of my life." He spoke about the deep emotional connection that continues to bind them, even after their marriages ended.
"There has to be basic respect between two people," Aamir explained. "When there is genuine respect and love, even if the nature of the relationship changes, the bond remains strong. That's what happened in my life - twice. Reena and Kiran are both incredibly special to me."
Reflecting on his marriage to Reena, he said, "We were very young when we got married. In many ways, we grew up together." He expressed gratitude for having supportive partners and emphasized the ongoing mutual support and affection that characterize their current relationships.

Aamir also shared a heartfelt detail about the familial bond that has persisted over the years: "My younger sister Farhat is married to Reena's younger brother. So, we're connected not just emotionally, but through family ties as well."
While Aamir Khan's marriages may not have endured, his respect and love for Reena and Kiran remain steadfast. "We are not husband and wife anymore," he concluded, "but we're still family, very much so. I can't imagine my life without them."

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Aamir is preparing for the release of his upcoming film titledSitaare Zameen Par. Also featuring Genelia D'Souza, the movie marks her return to the film industry. An RS Prasanna directorial, the film is set to release in theatres on June 20, 2025.
