
Mitsubishi motors recalled: Mitsubishi Motors North America is calling back around 200,000 Outlanders and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric SUVs due to defective software. The rear view camera in these vehicles was freezed or black out. This problem problem of these vehicles clearly increases the risk of accidents. The recall, filed on June 2, 2025 with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is based on the 2023 recall. Drivers may face a decrease in back visibility, especially when reverse immediately after official digestion.

According to the NHTSA recall report, the image of the rear view camera may “lose” while retreating from it, which may increase the risk of accident and potentially affected SUV may be out of compliance with federal regulation about rear visibility.

Mitsubishi connected this problem with “unfair software programming” in the infotainment system.
The recall report reported that the back -called outlander SUV was produced between the beginning of February 2021 and the end of December 2024, while the potentially affected Outlander PHEV was formed between the end of September 2022 and April 2025.
The recall report states that the issue in the center of recall has not been reported any kind of injury or death.
