

MP Monsoon Update: The mood of the weather is changing in Madhya Pradesh. Light rain and strong winds have knocked in many districts, while in some areas severe heat and heat wave continue to wreak havoc. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, strong winds and lightning in many districts today (15 June). The good news is that by 18-20 June the monsoon can become fully active in Madhya Pradesh.
Weather for the last 24 hours
In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains occurred in many districts of Gwalior, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Sagar, Narmadapuram and Indore divisions, while the weather remained dry in some parts. Khajuraho (Chhatarpur) recorded the highest temperature of 45°C, which reflects the heat of summer.
Weather forecast on June 15
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, strong winds and lightning in many districts today. Winds may blow at a speed of 50-60 km/h in Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur and Jhabua.
Forecast for the next two-three days
There will be chances of thunderstorms and lightning in western and central Madhya Pradesh on June 16. The weather is expected to improve from June 17, but light rain activities may continue. There will be a risk of strong winds and lightning these days, so caution is necessary.
Latest monsoon update
The northern boundary of the monsoon has just reached some parts of Maharashtra. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will advance due to favorable conditions in the next 2-3 days. The monsoon may become fully active in Madhya Pradesh between June 18-20, which will start the rainy season and provide relief from the heat.
Advice for people and farmers
To avoid strong winds and lightning, people have been advised not to stand near trees, electric poles or raw walls during thunderstorms and lightning, as it can prove fatal. To get relief from the heat, wear loose and light-colored clothes, drink plenty of water and avoid going out especially during the afternoon.
Farmers have been advised not to sow Kharif crops until there is sufficient moisture in the soil to ensure a good start to the crop.
