
The year 2013 was a remarkable year for Bollywood. It not only celebrated the 100th year of the Hindi film industry but also saw a wave of several blockbusters hitting the silver screens. Helmed by Vijay Acharya and bankrolled by Aditya Chopra under the banner Yash Raj Films Dhoom 3 featured a stellar ensemble cast including Aamir Khan Katrina Kaif Abhishek Bachchan Uday Chopra and Jackie Shroff. Released on December 20 2013 the film created quite a stir not only for its ensemble cast but also for its enormous budget. According to reports the film became one of the most expensive films at the time with a production cost ranging from Rs 100 crore to Rs 175 crore. Dhoom 3 became a phenomenal success at the box office by grossing Rs 400 crore. Moreover it went on to surpass the Rs 500 milestone becoming the first Indian film to achieve this remarkable feat. Dhoom 3 is the third installment of the Dhoom franchise and garnered widespread appeal becoming one of biggest blockbusters. The film captivated audiences with its remarkable performances grand action sequences and impeccable storyline. The film not only became the highest-grossing film of the year but also shattered records and amassed the final collection of Rs 556 crore cementing its place as a blockbuster. Dhoom and Dhoom 2 previously starred John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan as the antagonists. In the third installment Dhoom 3 featured Aamir Khan as the clever thief while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra rerise their characters as Jai and Ali respectively.
