Bridge Collapse Incident in Talegaon, Pune
A bridge over the Indrayani River in the Talegaon area of Pune collapsed unexpectedly on Sunday. According to the Pimpri-Chinchwad police, the incident occurred near Kundamala village.
Authorities reported that between 10 to 15 individuals may be trapped under the debris, with 5 to 6 people having been rescued so far.
Reports indicate that the bridge had been in a dilapidated state for some time, leading to its closure for vehicular traffic in recent months. However, the presence of pedestrians and others contributed to this tragic event.
The local administration has promptly mobilized efforts to locate the missing individuals and conduct rescue operations at full scale. Further updates are awaited.
