The Punjab Police have successfully thwarted an assassination plot orchestrated by terrorist Arsh Dalla, who resides in Canada, by apprehending two key associates of the module. This information was disclosed by officials on Sunday.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav shared on 'X' that preliminary investigations revealed the arrested individuals were acting under Dalla's orders to eliminate members of a rival gang.
In his post, the DGP stated, “The State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of Punjab has dismantled a targeted assassination scheme devised by the Canadian-based terrorist Arsh Dalla, leading to the arrest of two main operatives, Kawaljeet Singh from Dharmkot and Navdeep Singh, also known as Hani, from Baddowal.”
He further noted that this operation, executed based on timely and actionable intelligence, successfully dismantled a targeted killing module, thereby averting a significant threat to public safety.
During the operation, police also seized a Zigana .30 caliber pistol (manufactured in Turkey) along with nine cartridges. The DGP mentioned that investigations are ongoing to gather more information about the module.
