

Bangkok: India’s victory campaign continues in the Asian Para Cano Championships 2024 released in Thailand. On the third day of the competition, Para Athlete Amit Kumar of Delhi has given a bronze medal to India by performing brilliantly. With this achievement of Amit, India’s total number of medals has reached 20, including 5 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze.
On this occasion, the President of the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA) also reached Thailand and met the players. Encouraging the players, he said that we will give our para players every facility of their needs, so that they can win medals for India in the future Olympics.
The credit for giving a new identity to Para Cano Sport in India goes to Mayank Thakur, who is considered the ‘father’ of this game. Due to his foresight and guidance, India has made its presence felt internationally in this game.
Anil Rathi and Rinku Singh played the responsibility of coaching the Indian Para Cano team. He trained the players in the right direction and prepared them mentally and physically for the competition.
Amit Kumar’s success is the result of his determination, hard work and confidence. His coach Manjit Shekhawat said that Amit used to practice regular in the morning and evening in the Yamuna river of Delhi every day. He proved that if the intentions are strong then the lack of resources also cannot cause any obstacle.
